Nice really love those! Don't know if you already heard about the spartacus con in Paris?
With a group of 5 people we are making a fanbook that we will give to the actors at the end of the con! So if you're interested we are looking for some artists who can maybe draw something for the book. What do you think?
You can send them to this e-mail adress (firstname.lastname@example.org) they have to be 18X12 cm and the delay is 12 August!
Hope to see some works in the book! Also enjoy the rest of the weekend!
I truly did prefer Andy Whitfield on the show. McIntyre is good, but he isn't the Spartacus I knew. Your art captures that real look that the man had in his eyes, that piece of his soul that you can feel coming through him.
thank you. It's always amazing to hear that people like this image. It was very important to me and I did it because I wanted to. Not many of my images get done like that. It's very dear to me. Thanks for your kinds comment and for a stamp of approval. I only wished to do him justice. It means a lot when fans feel its a good piece
Thank you. This show was by far one of if not may fav so it was close to heart when the actor lost his battle. I drew him first because I knew he would be the most important and would be the right way to set the tone for the rest of my pieces.
Thanks Chelsea, When I was done drawing it I felt something was missing. So I started to play with the idea of a splatter digitally and decided I liked it. So I worked it until I was happy. Glad you like it too !
Basically i respect the realism, but the thing is, you know the finish line, for example photography result. What i want from portraits is,how can you make them better than the photo. I don't like ''handmade realism'', if you know what i mean... No smooth spots!I like pure use of material and how can you handle it. Right know ,you are ok! Stay where you are, because every portait has the pure use of material.Nice crosshatching, sensitive tones and nice lights. Keep up the good work!I love it!
I get a lot of people in my classes that ask if I can help them draw/show them how to draw photo realism. I always say no. I tell them that they already have the photo which is perfect. If they want something better, I can help them try that..
Thank you. I am a huge fan of the show so I just had to do these. It's funny, out of all the artwork I have created these were some of the few I did because I wanted to for me. In turn they have become some of the most popular for me. It's great to see that people really liked what I was most proud to do.
I believe that as artists sometimes we need a break to work on pieces of something that we really like/enjoy. I am also a very huge fan of the show, in fact, it's on my top 3 of favourites series so far! It's very nice that, even if the show has ended, I can still find these Spartacus's stuff out there
