So after taking it a bit slow towards the end of last year. I decided to submit to the Art Show in Star Wars Celebration London.
If you are not familiar, it is an Official LucasFilm,Ltd. and now Disney convention that focuses 100% on Star Wars. In their words "Star Wars Celebration is the ultimate fan experience focused on a galaxy far, far away..."
It's actually amazing and people travel from world wide to attend. All the latest news, costumes and Star Wars firsts happen here usually. Check it out if you haven't already ( www.starwarscelebration.com/
Ok, so why am I talking about this? Well, because each year a very select few Officially licensed Star Wars Artists get to attend. They have a very tough selecting process with stages of approval. Last year, I had submitted but did not get in. I was honestly really bummed until I saw that other very well established and amazing artists had not made the cut. This year I decided to give it another go and apply. After months in the process and creating ideas and finally submitting a concept, I was selected to be a part of the show !!!
Basically, thousands of artist around the world submit to be a part of this show and only a handful make the cut. And I MADE IT !!!
This is very exciting. Not only is ACME Archives one of the lone Star Wars Licensees, but also it's the only company that does large format printing (posters).
Now, for obvious reasons and contractual ones I am not allowed to show my concept for this year. But I am super excited and can't wait until they announce it on StarWars.com. For now however, I will share with you some of my past SW art in my gallery including my latest REY piece that I am very proud of.
anyway I wont
Rey = NEW !!!
